WELCOME TO TEAM RWA!

May was a big month for RWA! We saw Jen, our beloved team leader, finish up her 6-month tenure and welcomed Austin as the new team leader. Bridget also stepped up as the Organizer for the team. New team members include Randall and John Little, who created our very own “boot camp” on Saturdays that a growing group of volunteers and several residential team members attend regularly. RWA also now has the amazing opportunity to welcome the members from Mercy each day. They have bought new energy, excitement, and love to the circle and we are so happy to have them join us!

Finally, members, Marcus, Robert, Jonathon, “Lateef”, and Charles braved the rain and finished the Broad Street Run, where “Lateef” celebrated 100 miles at mile 7! Late in the month Rodney and Marcus moved out into their own apartments, and Marcus landed a job at Super Fresh!

MEMBER OF THE MONTH: JEFFERY “LATEEF” BAKER

Shoe Size: 10
Member Since: December 2008
Accumulated Miles: 110+

“Lateef is that quiet leader whose presence is felt, and whose example is followed. He is a great motivator for his team members and for all of those that meet him! Lateef leads by example- and is respected for doing so!” Austin, RWA Team Leader

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH: BRIDGET S.

Shoe Size: 9.5
Member Since: January 2009

Bridget’s favorite Back on My Feet moments include singing karaoke – especially Sweet Caroline, running the Revolutionary Run in Valley Forge, and pre-run activities like Lateef’s quotes and the Dragon’s team cheer. “Hearing [the members] tell me just how much they’ve been impacted by Back On My Feet has really inspired me to keep going and get out there every morning - knowing they’re depending on me just as much as I am on them.”
