WELCOME TO TEAM OUTLEY HOUSE!
May proved to be another great month for the newest Back on My Feet team, Outley House! After running their first mile on April 4th, the team has really found it’s stride and has grown tremendously! The team has both grown in numbers (up to 17 active runners!) as well as grown closer through the shared experience of getting to know each other during the runs each week.
Team-members came out to support fellow runners at the Broad Street Run and also volunteered to help facilitate City Chase, an urban scavenger hunt event that took place in Philadelphia last month. The team is eagerly looking forward to their first race coming up on June 6th at the Moorestown 8k in New Jersey.
The team is also excited to get started in the Next Steps phase of Back on My Feet. 6 men have exceeded the attendance criteria and will be entering our system for job prep and going back to school depending on what their professional ambitions are. Outley House is doing great things, so come check out this fun-loving team in South-West Philadelphia!

Phil’s best Back on My Feet moment was the most recent race in New Jersey. “Our Outley team was huge - 7 residential members, 7 non-residential and 4 guys that were not able to run, but went to support the team. We had 7 guys finish their first race. Every one of them was faster than they expected to be. One of our guys, Anthony finished ahead of all but 1 of the other residential members, and he just started running 3 weeks ago…amazing! We did a team circle at the van before heading back to SW Philly and I was moved by the joy and gratitude these guys were expressing. A great day!”
