WELCOME TO THE BROTHERHOOD MISSION'S TEAM PAGE!
Summer has landed…well, at least every other time we run. Now, we are able to see each other in the morning light and we’re not huddled together just for warmth!
May has been an interesting month for the team with much of the focus placed on the upcoming Baltimore 10-Miler on June 20th. May has been a steady training month with long runs getting longer and the guys are really putting in great efforts.
Our Saturday runs have typically been taking place in the Wissahickon Park, where we run in wonderful surroundings and on trails in order to avoid the discomfort of asphalt at least once a week. The team has been well supported on these Saturday excursions by our wonderful non-residential members who add tremendous value to the team.
Brotherhood Mission took part in the Back On My Feet social event this month at Independence Hall. The night was filled with laughs, food, ice cream and most of all good times. That evening, Back On My Feet held its spring MVP awards, where one member from each team was presented with a plaque highlighting them as the MVP.
Brotherhood Mission’s Spring MVP is Jesse! Jesse graduated from Brotherhood Mission in April and is currently living with his mother in North Philly. He originally moved to West Philly and was making it to every morning run even though he had to take the subway and bus to get there for the 5.30 starts. Now he is in North Philly and is still making to each of our runs. Jesse shows true dedication to the team and that makes him our MVP. Congratulations Jesse!
Go Team Go! June is looking like a great month as well!
